The Benefits of One-on-One High School Credit Courses

Many students struggle to reach their academic potential in regular class settings. This can be due to intimidation, social anxiety, or being forced to share attention with 30 plus other students. This setting can cause students to fall behind, failing to reach the threshold needed for admission to universities of their choosing. With an increased supply of interested international applicants, programs become more competitive and qualified students are sometimes denied scholarship, admission, or sometimes put on a waitlist. Rather than working hard and hoping for the best, many families opt for one on one high school credit courses. In this setting, students work individually with a teacher, going through the course material in detail, ensuring that nothing is left out. While the work is not easier, there is more support in place and there is uncompromised access to the teacher at all times.

Why Take a Credit Course Privately?

To secure university admission, students need to have a strong performance in both grade 11 and 12. This applies not just to the core classes, but everything that is required to qualify for graduation. How Is The Course Carried Out?

The office is to receive the student’s transcript, which includes both the grades and the teacher comments. Based on those observations, the team will formulate a game plan to mitigate past issues and ensure success. This might include attention issues, handing in assignments on time and class participation. In many situations, the students are shy and are unable to express their intelligence, giving the teachers little to go on. Once this initial assessment is finished, the teacher will meet with the student and go over the course outline and requirements. This can be done before or during the first day of class. How Much Homework Is There?

Like any other high school course, there is a large quality of homework, requiring students to stay organised and to make the assignments a priority. If the student lacks organisation, the teacher will help them develop a learning plan which will put the milestones on a calendar, preventing procrastination and missing deadlines. While classes can be extended, this can cause difficulties because universities need students to have their grades in by a certain date to avoid being excluded from enrollment. This is a forecast for what is expected at university, where students are penalised heavily for not having their work done on time. By working one on one with a teacher, these skills are developed steadily, without the normal pressure from having to compete with peers. It should be noted that there are expectations, like if there is a family trip or something else, but these details need to be given to the school prior to enrollment. How Can We Get Started?

The first step is to come in and have a meeting with our administration team. They will ask some questions and make sure that the prerequisites are satisfied. Once the student is enrolled, they will be assigned a teacher and the schedule will be developed. If the student already took the course, the grade may either be replaced or supplemented, ensuring that the new grade is the actual grade that is considered for the transcript. The teacher will teach one unit per day, assigning readings, assignments, questionnaires and so forth. In other words, there will be homework issued everyday. Assuming that the student shows up prepared, and offers quality work, they will be on their way to achieving a high grade and getting accepted to the university of their choice.
